GEORGE L. BOLLINGER

Funeral service for George L. Bollinger, 92, of 12th St. Holly Hill, who passed away Monday (Jan. 31, 2011) at Florida Hosiptial, will be held Friday at 10:30 am at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home 167 Ridgewood Ave. Holly Hill . Interment will be at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends wishing to call and pay their respects may do so Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

A native of Littlestown, PA, Mr. Bollinger was an Army veteran of World War II and at the end of the war became stationed in Daytona. While stationed here, he met and fell in love with his wife, Elizabeth. They joined the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach where George sang in the choir for 50 years. Before his retirement, he worked for Sears for 33 years. He enjoyed music and cherished time spent playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth; a son, Gregory, Ormond Beach; two grandchildren, Kimberly McCargo, Hertford, NC and Sean Bollinger, Orlando; two great grandchildren.
