Dover John E. Krout,94, of Dover township,died at 3:40p.m. Sunday at his home. He was the husband of Ruth M.(Leader) Krout and of the late Mertie L.(Sweitzer) Krout.
The service will be at 11 a.m. at the Leroy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., Shiloh. Burial will be at Quickel's Cemetery, Zion View. Visiting will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be no viewing the day of the funeral.
Mr. Krout was born in Zion View. He was the son of the late Henry and Ida (Wintermyer) Krout.
He was a self-employed general contractor and a former employee of Mt. Wolf Wire Cloth Co. and of the then York Oil Burner Co. He was a former member of Corn Hill Fishing and Hunting Club of Lycoming County.
Mr. Krout also is survived by a son, William E. Krout, of Dover township; six grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Snell of North York; two brothers Daniel Krout of Zion View and Charles Krout of Dover and neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Junior P. Krout, and by a daughter, Mary I. Gross.
Officiati9ng at the service will be Pastor Joseph A. McCoy, of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of York.
