Neola Delphine Hounchell, age 84, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 28, 1929 in Lewis Co. TN to John and Minnie (Hinson) Arnold. Neola married Frank Hounchell, Jr. on June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 29, 2013.
Neola was a homemaker and loved her garden and hummingbirds. She wrote poems for her friends and family and she loved to play slot machines. Neola will be dearly missed by all who knew her..
She is survived by her daughter, Marla (Russ) Renton; granddaughter, Brittany (Jason) Plunkett; half-sister, Jean (Bob) Watson and nephew, Eddy (Becky) Arnold. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Preston, John, Calvin and Dempsey Arnold and sister, Elois Arnold.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
