When Orin's parents moved to Valentine, Nebraska, it was still Indian territory. My grandfather, Orin, was the first white male born in Valentine.
He was a kind man with a colorful life. He was in the Spanish American War; appeared in one silent movie; had the first Ford Auto Dealership in Canada; owned the first airplane in Canada and made a short flight with Charles Lindbergh.
