Jacinto Colon Cruz, age 85, of Hammond, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Aida L. Cruz; 11 children: Ronnie Cruz, Jacinto (Simona) Cruz Jr. Angela Baldechino, Charles Cruz, Aida Iris (Carmelo) Bonilla, Margie Carrizales, Millie (Jose) Aponte, Teresa (Ismael) Rivera, Minerva (fiancee Edwardo Davila) Rentas, Gladys (Ruben) Lagunas, and Norma (Andy) Rivera; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN with Pastor Raul Padro officiating.
Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Jacinto loved dominos and was very passionate about his music.
Mr. Cruz was a proud WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and later in the National Guard. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Jacinto will always be remembered by his favorite saying: "Everybody is crazy but me".
