Mrs. Sikes, who resided at 110 Mary St., Monroe, has been a resident of this city for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Cleft Rock Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peters Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Peters.
Mrs. Sikes is survived by her husband, James E. Sikes, Monroe; five daughters, Mrs. Velma Stuckey and Mrs. Lydia May Frost, both of West Monroe, Mrs. Louise Judice, Franklin, La., Mrs. Katherine Shipley, Iowa Park, Tex., and Mrs. Sybil Jones, Alexandria; six sons, Henry Sikes, West Monroe, Evan Sikes, Bellevue, Ill., Richard Sikes, Summitt, New Jersey, Sgt. 1-c Eddie Sikes, Aurora, Colo., S-Sgt. Phillip Sikes, U.S. Army and Truman Sikes, Blue Field, W.Va.; two step sisters, Mrs. Grace Dean and Mrs. Willie Hackworth, both of West Monroe; one brother, Carlie Knight, Hodge, and one step brother, Luther Hannon [sic Hanna], Hodge; and 33 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be C. L. Nordan, M. E. Frantom, Thomas Brady, James Hedgepeth, Dave Lenard and Elton Salisbury.
