Anna Jean was the daughter of the late
Walter P. and Eva Jean Dunlap Holdren

Her younger sister Jennifer Holdren held a special place in Anna's heart. She had given much of herself to see her sister raised because of their parents dying early in life.

Sadly, she only out-lived her 6 months.

She was a former caretaker and a former employee of the US Postal Service. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1968.

Surviving: sons Phillip Jarrett of Smithers and Tracy Jarrett of Bulls Gap, Tennessee; her aunt Anna Hudnall of Cannelton and several aunts, uncles and cousins and a very special friend Andy Choate of Mesquite, Texas.

In addition to her parents and her sister, she was also pre-deceased by a little girl Shawna Renea Jarrett, she lost in infancy.

On September 13, 2010 she had her leg amputated and spent weeks of rehab to recover from that. She bravely met head on whatever seemed to be thrown at her.

Today Anna left us. She fought such a hard battle for her health that ultimately took it's toll and her heart would take no more.

The one that captured her heart and took care of her was 'Choate'
She thought he was the most special person that had ever come in her life.

Her sons, Tracy and Phillip were her joy. She was especially close to Tracy, her oldest son. He was her special 'rock of Gibraltor' in her life. Phillip was her baby.

She played on Pogo.com and went by the name Smacdisgal. She had many, many friends on there and that kept her in touch with everyone outside of her little town of Smithers, West Virginia

Words of Solace

Life, like a mist, appears for just a day
then disappears tomorrow.
All that we are can quickly fade away,
replaced with tears and sorrow.

If a man should die, can he live again?
Hear the promise God has made,
Friends of our God,
though they may pass away
will never be forsaken.

All those asleep in God's memory stay,
from death he will awaken.
Then we'll come to see, all that life can be,
Paradise eternal.

He will call, the dead will answer,
they shall live at his command.
For He will have a longing,
for the work of his own hand.

So have faith and do not wonder,
for our God can make us stand.
And we shall live forever,
As the work of his own hand.
