Nina Lou Varnell Arden
Springfield - Nina Lou Varnell Arden, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 17 at home. The Effingham County native was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church where she had been a pianist for many years and also member of the choir. She taught a Sunday School Class and worked with the young people. She was a member of the U.M.W. and former member of the Administrative Board. She was a homemaker. Survivors: her husband, Milton "Joe" Arden Jr. of Springfield; a daughter, Melinda Niedlinger of Springfield; three sons, Thomas Arden and John Arden both of Springfield and Alan Arden of Guyton; an aunt, Dorothy Neidlinger Murray of Savannah; 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Springfield United Methodist Church, interment in Springfield Cemetery.
