On January 28, 2011, Dr. Charles Herbert Flowers, of Glenarden, MD, passed away.

He was a veteran of WWII, the first African American flight instructor at Tuskegee Air Force Base and was one of the first Tuskegee Airmen.

Beloved husband of Wilhelmina Little Flowers; loving father of Carolyn Green and Charles Flowers, III; grandfather of Pamela Martin, Natalie Blake, Kimberly Montgomery, Johnny Hinton, Charlie H. Flowers, IV and Brandon Flowers; great-grandfather of 11; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Friday, February 4, 2011, and Service at Lanham United Methodist Church, 5512 Whitfield Chapel Rd., Lanham, MD.
