Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Mustoe, who live west of Brock, received a message Thursday of last week, stating their son, Pvt. Jack E. Mustoe, was killed in action on Sunday, April 8, in Germany. The message stated a letter giving more details would follow.
Jackie Mustoe was born in Scotland County on March 28, 1926, being a little over 19 years old at his death. He we would have been a senior in the Memphis High School this year, but chose to enter the service and serve his country in a time of need.
Entered High School in 1941. Became an outstanding agricultural student and an active member of F. F. A. He was awarded the state farmers degree in June 1944.
Before entering High School he was a 4-H member and represented the county on a stock judging team.
