Civil War Soldier.

Elihu Holeman enlisted on August 17, 1862 as a Private in "H" Co. 12th Indiana Infantry. He was promoted to Corporal June 30, 1863, and promoted again to Sergeant March 12, 1864. On August 6th 1864 he was wounded in an event following the Battle of Ezra Church, Jul 28, 1864. He mustered out on June 8 1865 at Washington, D.C. In later years he became the Justice of the Peace in Petersville, Indiana.
