Mrs Margaret E Maggie Bowman was born Sept 7,1961 in Lineville, Iowa, to Henry and Eliza Bowman.
At the age of 16 she came to Kansas to homestead with her parents in Ness County. She taught one term of school in the first school at Riverside.
On October 28, 1885, she was married to Robert T Coker. Then moving to Hodgeman County, where five children were born, all passing on with diptheria in nine days. Then On December 18, 1952, at the age of 91, 3 months and 11 days she passed on at the convalescent home of Dodge City.
In 1926, her husband preceded her in death. Leaving to mourn her loss are one daughter, Mrs Grace Brown of Kincaid, Kansas, two sons, Walter and Fred Coker of Ness City, thirty-three grandchldren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one half nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held at Fitzgerald funeral Chapel Dec 21, at 2 pm.
She was laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Rev Reamler of Ness City officiated at the serrvice.
Bill Goldsmith, Wayne Brooks, Leland Hign, Alden Miner, singing accompanied by Mrs Byron Fitzgerald, organist.
