Shot down over Ronneburg/Hamburg. Crashed on the West side of Autobahn from Hamburg to Luneburg. Control was lost, presumably due to flak barrage.

Son of William Sylvester and Lucia Vera Kirkwood Crosland.

Note:
Originally buried in Sinstore Cemetery, Germany. Later removed to US Military Cemetery-En-Condroz near Liege, Belgium. Reburied in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bennettsville on June 5, 1949.
