Newcastle - Services for Wyoming pioneer Mary L. Fowler, 86, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the McColley Funeral home, with Rev. Guy Catlin, and Rev. Norm Brotzman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fowler died Friday at the Weston County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 8, 1894 at Cedar Bluffs, Neb. to John and Ottilie Martens. She grew up there, and moved in 1914 with her parents to Wyoming to homestead on Fiddler Creek in Weston County.

In Dec. 1917 she married Joseph D. Barr at Newcastle. The couple homesteaded on Mush Creek in Weston County. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1927, Mary then moved to Fiddler Creek. On Nov. 30, 1932, she married Theodore D. Fowler at Deadwood, S. Dak. The couple lived on Fiddler Creek, ranching until 1970, when they retired and moved to Newcastle.

Mr. Fowler preceded her in death Dec. 1972

She is survived by one son, Glen D. Barr of Newcastle; two brothers, John Martens of Osage, and Bill Martens of Douglas; three sisters, Lillie Harmon of Newcastle, Mattie Middleton of Garden Grove, Calif., and Florence Minter of Greybull; one granddaughter, one great great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

A memorial has been established to the Weston County Memorial Hospital. Contributions may be left at the McColley Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Wyoming Pioneer Mary L. Fowler, 86, were held Tuesday, December 30, in the chapel of the McColley Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Catlin and Rev. Norm Brotzman officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fowler died Friday, Dec. 26, at Weston County Memorial Hospital.

Music was by Mrs. Don Horn, organist, and Mrs. A. R. and Mrs. Everett Kraft, vocalists. Casket bearers were A. R. and Everett Kraft, Laurence Fulton, Joe Childs, Orville Hayes and Vince Tenke.
