William Meyers (Babe) boarded and worked on the farm of Ben Hurt. Babe later went to work for Martin Montgomery and he and his brother John stayed there off and on for several years. It was their second home.
Babe" continued to live in the log home on center point road alone after John's death and in 1964 with failing health he moved into the home of Truman Nash. He soon became disabled and was bed ridden for the last few years of his life.

Mr. Nash nursed Babe for almost seven years and he died in 1971 at the age of 87
