Rachel Elizabeth Lewers was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1923 to parents Pete and Marina (Hart) Hickland.

She worked as a Licensed Practicing Nurse for the Cook County Hospital and the Ilinois Board of Health in Chicago. She was also a licensed Beautician.

Rachel has lived in Ohio, Illinois, later in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and finally in Beaverton, Oregon.

She was a member of Living Hope Church.

Rachel is a cancer survivor.

One thing Rachel will be remembered for is her love of Mystery movies. She was also very fond of a good Western movie.

She is predeceased by her husband Edwin, who passed away in 1970; and her brother Joseph Hart who passed away in 1948.

Survivors include her 3 children: Her daughter Camille Robinson of Beaverton; Her daughter Marlene Cardeia of Atlanta Georgia, and her son Michael Robinson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters Juanita Evans of Chicago, Illinois and Phillis Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many dear cherished friends.

A Public Visitation/ Viewing will take place in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Large Visitation Room on Monday, February 7, 2011, from 12pm to 5pm.

A Funeral Service in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel will take place on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 1pm.

Viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, with a funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
