Jouanna Thiec was sent to prison at age 16 in 1685. She was released in 1758 at age 89 after serving 73 years in prison. It is the longest prison sentence ever served in human history. Her crime she was a Calvinist in France. She was sent to prison after Louis XIV revoked the Edict of Nantes. Her entire imprisonment was spent in a single stone cell 18x40 originally shared with over 30 other women all of whom died there.
