John L. "Jack" Schaade, 67, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Tiffin, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born Jan. 30, 1942, in Tiffin to Robert and Helen (Huffman) Schaade. He was a cab driver for Service Cab in Tiffin for more than 30 years.

Survivors include five sons, John (Ramona) Schaade of Mt. Vernon, Ken (Barb) Schaade of Tiffin, Jeff (Dawn) Schaade and Bob Schaade, of Mt. Vernon, and Henry (DeeDee) Schaade of WVa.; three daughters, April (Bill) Siggers of Somerset, Ky., Melissa (Spencer) Wallace of Monticello, Ky., and Michelle (Fred) Shelton of Albany, Ky.; three brothers, Bill Schaade of Tiffin, Jerry (Evelyn) Schaade of Burnside, Ky., and Mike (Freda) Schaade of Danville, Ky.; three sisters, Mary Schaade of Tiffin, Suzanne Tucker of Youngstown, and Ethel (Jack) Schleter of Tiffin; 31 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Paul Schaade.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, with Andy Freeman and David Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery
