Funeral services for Bruce D. Chowning, 94, of New Albany, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Cherry Street Church of Christ, New Albany with interment at Sellersburg Cemetery. He died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home.

He was a native of Dugger, Ind. He was a retired minister of Cherry Street Church of Christ. He was also an Army veteran of WWII.

Survivors include daughters Janet R. Yarbrough (Bob) of Terrell, Texas, Elaine M. Chowning of New Albany; grandchildren Rebecca Dickens (Chip) of Bedford, Texas, Mark Yarbrough (Jennifer) of Forney, Texas; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irene K. Chowning and parents Oscar and Abigail Chowning.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cherry Street Church of Christ.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the church.
