Keath V, Smith
Keath V. Smith, 54, of East Smethport, a radio operator for the State Department of Highways, died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Smith, who had been constructing a new garage at his home, had just started to cut down a tree, which interfered with the driveway, when he was stricken with a fatal attack of illness.
Mr. Smith was an ambitious, highly-skilled workman whose passing is sincerely mourned.
He was born here Aug. 15, 1909, and was the son of Elias Smith and the late Vida Wirt Smith. He attended local schools and was married in Farmers Valley June 29, 1934, lo Ihe former Sarah Eckstrom of East Smethport. He attended the Smethport Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Keath Smeth Jr., at home; daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Ruby) Cook, and Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley Hamilton, both of East Smethport, and Miss Bonnie Smith at home; six grandchildren, his father, Elias Smith of East Smethport; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Berg and Mrs. Cecil Grinolds, both of Smethport; three nephews and four nieces.
Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
