He was born in Wheeling, April 27, 1895, son of the late Isabell Ferguson Parker and the late Herbert Parker Sr.
Mr. Parker was a member of Cove United Presbyterian Church. He was retired from the Power House Dept. of Weirton Steel Co., where he was a painter with the maintenance dept. He was a member of the ?.S.U. He was married in Cumberland, Md., Aug 4, 1936 [or 1938], to Lillian M. Merchant. He had resided in Weirton 24 years coming from Elm Grove, W. Va.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lillian M. Merchant Parker; one daughter, Mrs. Jane Whipkey of Charleston, W. Va.; three sons, Gerald Parker of Richmond, Va., Walter Steiner of Steubenville and Phillip McCabe of Indianapolis, Ind; a number of nieces and nephews, and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends will be received after 8 p.m. today at the Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Mr. G. Ousley Brown officiating. Interment will be in Stone Church Cemetery, where graveside services will be held.
