Obituary
William Lincoln Lewis, a resident of Oro Fino, passed away at the home of his wife's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Eastlick, in Etna, on Thursday, February 12th.
Mr. Lewis was 69 years of age at the time of his death. He was born on November 22, 1861, at Oro Fino, and spent his entire life in that district. His ranch home was within one mile of the place of his birth. He attended the elementary school at Oro Fino and was united in marriage on December 11, 1898, to Miss Lenna Eastlick of Oro Fino. Mr. Lewis had been running his farm in the Oro Fino section until a few months ago when his health began failing him and it was necessary to go to a hospital for medical attention. After being at the Siskiyou County General Hospital at Yreka for several weeks, he was removed to Etna, where he remained until the time of this death.
Mr. Lewis joined the I.O.O.F. Lodge, No. 115, at Fort Jones, in August, 1890, and has been a member of the order since that time. He went through all of the chairs of that lodge and at one time was the district deputy for the Fort Jones and Etna district. He had also at one time been a delegate to the grand lodge of the order. He was an active member of the Scott Valley Grange, of Greenview, and was the Worthy Master of that lodge for two years. While Master of the Grange he attended the Grange conventions at Marysville and Stockton.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lenna Lewis, one son, Orel Lewis of Oro Fino, a sister, Mrs. George McDonald of Etna, and two brothers, Grant Lewis of Greenview, and John Lewis of Oro Fino.
