Alva Shable

Alva Lee Shable, 73, Milliken, died Monday, April 12, at North Colorado Medical Center.

He was born March 7, 1920, in Milliken to William Anthony and Maude Edith (Warner) Shable.

On Sept. 11, 1949, he married Donna Marshall in Milliken.

Mr. Shable attended Daniel’s Country School east of Milliken. He lived in the Milliken area all his life. He was a farmer, feeder and rancher in Milliken, Keota, New Raymer, Fort Morgan and Briggsdale.

He attended the First United Presbyterian Church in Milliken. He was one of the founders of the Milliken Early Potato Association and was a member of the President’s Quality Club from 1990-92. He was a hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors are his wife, Donna of Milliken; a daughter, Raenette L. Hamann of Denver; a son, Duane Alva of Milliken; a sister, Genevieve Yetter of La Salle; a brother, Delbert of La Salle; and four grandchildren. A brother, Guy, is deceased.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel. Interment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. today and until time of service Thursday.
