Walter J. Flanagan Jr., 62, of Kansas City, Kansas, died November 15th at his home. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas, and had lived in Kansas City, Kansas, most of his life. Mr. Flanagan was a boiler operator for the Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Public Utilities for 24 years, and retired in 1976. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Wyandotte Post of the American Legion. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mr. Flanagan was survived by his wife, Jean Flanagan; three sons, George Michael Flanagan of Fayetteville, North Carolina, John Anthony Flanagan of Huntington Beach, California, and Michael J. Flanagan of Kansas City, Kansas; two daughters, Deborah Jean Reeves and Victoria Lynn Kelly of Kansas City, Kansas; and seven grandchildren.

Friends called on Thursday evening at the Porter Chapel, where the Rosary was said later that night. Services were held on Friday morning at the Porter Chapel. Burial followed in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
