William Wolter was born in Allersehl, Hanover, Germany, September 24, 1849. In April 1874, he was married to Dorothea Baumgarten, who died on the 30th of October, 1921. Mr. Wolter was in good health during recent years despite his age, but when he took sick a little less than 2 weeks ago, it soon became apparent that his end was at hand. He died on the 15th of January, 1925 reaching the age of 75yr, 3mo. and 22 da.
He is survived by 7 children; Edward of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, Albert of Prairie du Sac, Gilbert of Chicago, Arno of Muncie, Indiana, Mrs. Ed Schulze, Mrs. Elsa Westphal and Mrs. Olga Schulze of Reedsburg; 1 sister, Mrs. Henry Flohr, beside other relatives.
The deceased was formerly engaged in the mill business at Loganville. About 10 years ago he purchased the Weidman farm near this city where they lived until about 7 years ago when they moved to this city. Mrs. Wolter died in 1921 since when he had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Schulze.
Those present from away were: Herman Baumgarten and family from Columbus, Wisconsin, Fred Baumgarten and family of Baraboo, John Koenig of Baraboo, Henry Schulz and family of Wonewoc, Edna and Alberta Schulze of Evanston, Illinois and Herbert Westphal of Madison. Interment took place on Sunday afternoon from St Peter's.
