Milton E. Koenecke, age 80 of Reedsburg, died on Saturday, July 18, 1998 in the Sauk County Health Care Center. He was born on September 2, 1917 in the Town of Reedsburg, the son of Edward and Hulda (Baumgarten) Koenecke. Milt was a 1936 graduate of Reedsburg High School. He then attended a one year short course at the University of Wisconsin. Milt farmed for many years and he later worked for the City of Reedsburg until his retirement. He was a faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and the Reedsburg Masonic Lodge #79 F & AM. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising his rat terrier dogs.
Survivors include two sisters; Lucille (Harold) Nullmeyer of St. Louis, Missouri and Dorothy (Ralph) Michelson of Madison; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Katherine Hensel.
Funeral services were conducted at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. Interment followed in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
