He is the son of William Thomas Yankey Jr(born 7-10-1888-died 5-11-1952) and of his wife Bessie K. (Kate) Sweeney. Bessie was born 5-18-1888 and died 6-5-1919.

Great-Grandson of William Graves Yankey and Mary Ellen Demaree Yankey

Great-Great Grandson of Michael & Sidney Yankee and

Great-Great-Great Grandson of Jacob & Mary Shrum Yankee of Perryville, Ky.

James T. did marry Stella Royalty on 9-9-1945 (daughter of Carl Royalty and Lizzie Brown Royalty. Stella was born 10-26-1913 and died 3-16-1988. They had one child: Elizabeth Ann Yankey, born 2-25-1947
