Ruth E. Engleman, 69, a resident of River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 4320 Knuell St., Manitowoc, died on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.




Ruth was born on Oct. 14, 1941, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Popp) Sleger in Milwaukee. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1960. Ruth married James E. Engleman on Jan. 26, 1963, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2005. She was very artistic and enjoyed rummage sales, shopping, gardening, and dining out. Ruth was a very heartwarming person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and David Kettner, Manitowoc; Connie and James Stanzel, Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Logan and Lance Kettner, Cassandra, Brady, Julia, Brett and Maria Stanzel; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joann (Richard) Sheahan, Brillion; Linda (Michael) Schermetzler, Whitelaw; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger (Sarah) Sleger, Eagle, Idaho; Wayne (Jean) Sleger, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara (Robert) Kanitz, Manitowoc; Thomas (Mary) Engleman, Manitowoc; Wayne (Cheryl) Engleman, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Randy James Engleman; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Florence (Schlager) Engleman.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Pastor Tom Dunham with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
