Omar Madison Rooks, Jr. was the son of Omar and Nina Rooks. Omar was a graduate of Franklin Central High School in 1960 and attended Bob Jones University. He served on the Marion County Sheriff's Department for 28 years, retiring in 1991, owned and operated Deb's Pizza for 15 years and served as Constable of Franklin Township for four years from 2000-2004. His hobbies were trapshooting, restoring vintage cars and watching NASCAR races. Omar was preceded in death by his parents Omar and Nina Rooks and two brothers; Phillip and Ronald Rooks. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 49 years, his daughter Tammy (Tom) Templeton; granddaughter, Megan Templeton; grandson, Kyle Templeton; his aunt, Edith Hadley; sisters-in-law; Sue Rooks and Ann Betner and his brother-in-law, Mark Betner. The funeral service was conducted February 12, 2011 at Little and Sons Funeral Home Stop 11 Chapel with burial in Acton Cemetery.
