Son of Conrad and Clara (Kuhn) Niemeyer. Married February 6, 1910 to Elizabeth Piepenbrink at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Arlington Heights. This was a double wedding ceremony where the two Niemeyer brothers (George and William) married two Piepenbrink sisters (Elizabeth and Anna).

George D. Niemeyer, late of 406 W. Sigwalt, Arlington Heights, died at the Dozier's Nursing Home in Palatine, Thursday, August 13. Services were held at St. Peter Lutheran Activity Building Monday, Aug. 17. Rev. Robert O. Bartz and Rev. L. C. Bernthal officiated. Interment was in St. Peter Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Niemeyer, a lifetime resident of Arlington Heights, was born December 25, 1844 in Arlington Heights. He reached the age of 74 years; was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran church March 26, 1899 by Rev. Roeder. On February 6, 1910, he was united to Miss Elizabeth Piepenbrink by Rev. Noack.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four sons, Edwin Niemeyer of Arlington Heights, Walter of Palatine, Roy of Lansing, Mich., and Clarence of San Bernardino, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Dacus of Arlington Heights, and Mrs. Raymond Tagtmeier of Congo Park, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Gustav Behrens of Arlington Heights, and Mrs. William Schoenbeck of Arlington Heights; a brother, Mr. William Niemeier of Arlington Heights, and fourteen grandchildren.
