LOCAL RESIDENT DIES HERE FRIDAY

Harriet Elizabeth Pettit passed away Friday, July 15, in McMinnville at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 27 days. She was a resident of 432 College avenue.

Harriet Knickerson was born in Wanatah, Indiana March 18, 1866, and married James Alfred Pettit at Mason City, Iowa in 1888. He preceded her in death in 1931.

Services were held at the chapel of Macy and Son of Tuesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. Rev. Elton Smith officiated. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors are: a son, Maurice E., Toledo; three daughters, Miss Arcola I. Pettit, McMinnville, Mrs. Eva F. Leewright, San Francisco, and Mrs. J.S. Sowle, Anchorage, Alaska; and two sisters, Mrs. Merrit Ritter, Dagget, Calif., and Mrs. Edwin Pomeroy, Kouts, Indiana.

Interment was in Mountain View cemetery in Tacoma, Washington.
