The funeral of Mrs. B. Lemon, mother of Millard Lemon and Mrs. Ida Mann, of this city, will be held this morning at the First Presbyterian church at 10 o'clock, Rev. Dr. Hayes officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Lemon had a stroke of paralysis last November and has been almost helpless since that time, passing away quietly at 11:15 Thursday morning at the good old age of 79 years.

She was reared in New York state and was married in Michigan in 1849. In 1852 she crossed the plains to Portland, Ore. in an old prairie schooner and came to Washington the following year. For a time she lived with her husband in a fort on the Cowlitz prairie in Lewis county during the Indian war of 1856.

After this the family moved to Claquato, near the present town of Chehalis, which was at that time a station on the old stage road between the Columbia river and Puget Sound.

Mrs. Lemon was the mother of seven children, two of whom, Millard Lemon and Mrs. Mann, survive her.

Mrs. Lemon has made many friends during her twenty-seven years' residence in Washington who will mourn her death.
