Barbara grew up in Vinita attending Vinita Schools graduating in 1950. As a young girl, she would babysit to earn spending money. She joked that she was the town babysitter having babysat every child in Vinita at least once. Barbara worked at the telephone company after high school. She married Bobby McGuire in September of 1952. Their first child was born in Vinita in 1953. The family moved to Anaheim California and four more children were born of this union. Barbara married John Carroll of San Diego, CA in the late 1970's. Barbara was extremely creative. She loved to paint and draw. She was an expert seamstress. She loved antiques and hooking her own rugs.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John Carroll and Bobby McGuire.
Our family would like to give special thanks and recognition to Jack and Nina Frazier. Kenny and Jo Ann Lawson and Mary Clark. Mom loved you all so much and appreciated everything you did for her. To her nurses at Rosewood and the Owasso Hospice workers, you spoiled her, she loved it and she loved you all too.
Our mother danced to the beat of a different drummer. She asked that upon her death that her hair be donated to Locks of Love. She asked to be cremated and she did not want flowers or a funeral service. Mom and I spoke about the Random Acts of Kindness that she read about in the Journal. She asked if I thought people would do these acts if there wasn't any public recognition. I said I believe they would. So in lieu of flowers please participate in "anonymous" Random Acts of Kindness. If you are "caught" doing a random act of kindness, it will not count.

Our family entrusted our mothers arrangements to the care of Burckhalter Funeral Home, Vinita, OK.
