On December 28, 1940, he was married to Myrtle Mickelson in Sand Creek and they farmed in the Ridgeland area. Guy also worked at the Ridgeland Creamery in the 1950's and later at the Ridgeland Cenex Co-op where he retired in 1982. He also served many years as the Treasurer for the Town of Wilson. Guy was proud to have lived in the Town of Wilson his entire life. He loved his community and was very devoted to his family. He enjoyed hosting family get-togethers, reading the daily newspapers, feeding the birds & stray animals, growing prize winning tomatoes, deer hunting in Gordon & fishing in Canada. Guy also enjoyed music and was a member of the Heart of the North Barbershop Chorus during the 1960's.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Myrtle on August 20, 2001, brothers: Amos, George, Theodore, Raymond, Ralph, Vernon, Norman & Carl Jacobson & sister: Grace Ellefson. He is survived by his sons: Dennis (Gloria) Jacobson of Ridgeland & Michael (Robyn) Jacobson of Cameron, daughter: Vicky (Lon) Weise of Minneapolis, 6 grandchildren: Angela, Paul, Amy, Heather, Amanda & Melisa, 8 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral Services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27 at Ridgeland Lutheran Church with Rev. David Sands officiating and interment in Hay River Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Hay River, Dunn County, WI. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas and also for the hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
