DONALD WARREN PARKS, SR., age 80, of Alvin, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Hitchcock, Texas. Don was born on November 24, 1930 in Perca, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for 66 years. He was owner/operator of Parks Restaurant and was a charter member of South Park Baptist Church. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Vivian Parks and sister Lynn Parks, brother, Neil Parks.
Don is survived by his wife, Georgia Helen Parks, daughters, Cindi Floyd and husband, Vern, Melody Duncan and husband, Michael, Angela Joe Tatum and husband Greg, son, Don Warren Parks, Jr., sisters, Joan Roach, Ginger Forbis, Judy Parks Scott and husband, Frank Scott, 3 grandchildren, Hart Jackson, Douglas Duncan, Heath Duncan, 2 great granddaughters, Makenna Jackson and Avery Duncan numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at South Park Baptist Church, 1718 South Johnson, Alvin, Texas with Rev. Bob Caperton officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.
