Bill. E. Prince, 80, of Evansville, Ind., and formerly of McLeansboro, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Cypress Grove Nursing Home in Newburgh, Ind.

He was born April 19, 1930, in Hamilton County, the son of Leslie and Verna Mae (Pierce) Prince. He married Roxie Faye Smith on Feb. 12, 1952, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2005.

Bill owned and operated Utex Drilling Company for many years. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean war wand a member of the Salt Lake City Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Randy Bechtel officiating. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens near Carmi with graveside military rites afforded by the American Legion Post #10 of McLeansboro.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Prince was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son, Stephen Eugene Prince; two grandchildren, Quinn Reay Jessen and Zachary Prince; three sisters, Verla Bowling, Lucille Bowling and Juanita Henninger; one brother, Everett Prince; and two infant brothers.

He is survived by a son, William W. Prince and wife Rochelle of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Monica Faye Jessen and husband Lee of Altamont, Utah; four grandchildren, Roxie Faye Prince, Whitney Rashae Prince, Stephen Cody Prince and Audrey Marie Prince; and three sisters, Betty Schwartz of McLeansboro, Maxine Waggoner of Marshall, and Peggy Vaupel of McLeansboro.
