Boyd Lee Lyell Jr., age 78, died June 2, 2004, at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. Boyd was a member of Petsworth Baptist Church and retired as a seaman for Exxon Company USA. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Halcyon and Boyd Lyell Sr. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty M. Lyell; two daughters, Diane Hudgins, Gale Leone and husband, Maurice; one son, Michael Lyell and wife, Vickie; seven grandchildren, Gerald Ray Hudgins, Robbie Lee Hudgins, Cristina Leone, Amanda Leone, Jessica Leone, Lindsay Lyell and Christopher Lyell; five great-grandchildren, Xavier, Isabelle, Ivan, Anna and Lauren Hudgins; two brothers, Jack Lyell and Franklin Lyell; many nieces and nephews. Also, faithful animal friends, Rufus and Sassy. Funeral services conducted by the Reverends Dennis Hollandsworth and Chris Morgan will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Petsworth Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Boyd's memory to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, P.O.
