Actress. Hazel Pierce, one of the unsung Hollywood footnote players HAZEL PIERCE, who reluctantly became one of the most notable "extras" in TV history. As longtime friend of Lucille Ball, Pierce appeared in countless background party scenes on TV's "I Love Lucy", even doubling for Miss Ball at times.
Lucille Ball's stand-in for many years on I Love Lucy, and often was given small parts in the show, with 18 on-camera appearance. She appeared in a dozens of episodes of I Love Lucy and the Lucy Show, and also uncredited appearances usually as Party Guest, Club Member, or Commuter at Station. She also was one of two actresses to appear as Grace Munson, the other as Ruth Brady. She later also would later appear opposite Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance in several episodes on The Lucy Show TV series in the 1960's.
Miss Pierce, 90, died at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA.
