Thornton KINDIG, 96, formerly of Logansport, died today at 7:30 a.m. at the Canterbury Manor Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 30, 1885 in Akron to Orville and Alfreda NYE KINDIG. He had lived here 3 1/2 years, moving from Logansport. He was married July 3, 1906 to Mary Elizabeth KNAPP, who died Nov. 5, 1972. He was a retired employee of the Penn Central Railroad. He was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge of Logansport, and the Market Street Methodist Church in Logansport. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Gladys HALL, Rochester, and two grandchildren. A son, William [KINDIG], and two sisters and four brothers preceded in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home in Rochester with the Rev. Sam CARLTON officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery near Athens. Friends may call from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday and until the hour of services Friday. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday.
