SECOND CARLSBAD
WAR DEAD WILL
ARRIVE TUESDAY
The second of Carlsbad's war dead will arrive here with a military escort tomorrow morning for burial. He was PFC Jim Tom Burcham, son of Clyde Burcham of 910 West Stevens Street, who was killed in action on Saipan on June 20, 1944.
Funeral services will be held in the West Chapel at 3 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. J.T. Barbee, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. E.V. Johnson of El Reno, Okla. Military honors will be paid at the graveside in Carlsbad Cemetery by the Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Burial will be beside his mother who died Nov. 7, 1944.
Burcham enlisted in the Marines on June 17, 1943. He was killed while serving with the Fourth Marine Division. He held the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was an employee of the Potash Company of America and had lived here six years at the time he entered the service.
He was born Jan. 19, 1924 at Bokoshe, Okla., and was graduated from the high school there.
Besides his father, he is survived by an aunt, Mrs. John Wiley of Carlsbad.

The body of Pfc. Jim Tom Burcham, who was killed in action on Saipan on June 20, 1944, arrived here this morning with a military escort for funeral services and burial.
