Hester A. Adams, eldest daughter of Jesse and Rebecca Adams, was born in Elkhart county, Indiana on August 9, 1843, and was called home on January 12, 1926, leaving to mourn her loss her son, Rolland W. Camp of Juniata, Nebraska, and her brother, Willis A. Adams, of Park City, Utah, besides cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She came to Adams county in 1873 and this has been her home since then. She was married in 1875 to W. W. Camp of Juniata and has resided at the farm home for more than fifty years. As one of the earliest residents, she took an interest and an active part in the advancement of community welfare. During all these years her church relations have been with the M.E. church of Juniata. Hers was a quiet life, spent almost entirely within her home, and the influence of such a life as this can only be appreciated by those who are nearest and dearest, but we know its worth is far beyond compare with the treasures which last only for a season. Mrs. Camp has been in failing health since November, 1924, when there began so gradual a decline that it was almost imperceptible to those most closely associated with her. She was confined to her bed for more than four months but has most graciously been spared from suffering and all fear of death. “There will be no dark valley when Jesus comes, to gather His loved ones home.” - The Kennesaw Progress , January 21, 1926
