Marian J. Chvilicek, 78, passed away April 5, 1986 in Northern Montana Hospital in Havre. She was born June 30, 1907 in Wessington, S. Dak. and was the youngest child of Francis and Alice Huestis. The family moved to Montana when Marian was three years old. They homesteaded 21 miles north of Hingham and she was educated in rural schools. July 27, 1926 she married John Chvilicek at Shelby, Mont. They returned to the Hingham area in 1928 to farm, and retired in 1955 to move to Havre. Mr. Chvilicek died in 1959. Marian then moved to Sweetgrass Lodge in Chester in 1981, and to the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in Havre in Dec. 1985.
She was active as a rural 4-H leader, member of Goldstone Altar Society and St. Jude's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and Senior Citizens. She is survived by one daughter, Alice Langel of Rudyard, and seven sons, John of San Bernardino, Calif., James and Leonard of the Hingham area, Norbert of Palmer, Alaska, Lawrence of Pendleton, Ore., Robert of Chester, Gerald of Woodward, Okla.; 34 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Havre. Rosary at Our Lady of Ransom Church in Hingham. Burial in Calvary cemetery, Havre.
