Obituary - Henry Beierle - January 14, 1937
Henry Beierle was born at Garrison, Nebraska, May 9, 1876, son of John and Anna Margarethe Beierle. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Millerton, Nebraska. Here he lived as a child and grew to manhood. Later he moved on a farm near Surprise. He lived and worked on a farm near Surprise for 22 years, then due to illness and inability to work, he moved to Surprise two years ago.
On October 30, 1901 he was married to Anna Fiedler and to this union were born two girls, Mrs. Ervin Hinze of Rising City, and Mrs. Albert Lux of Shelby, Nebraska.
Mr. Beierle leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Anna, his two daughters and three grandchildren, all will miss his presence very much. Besides his immediate family he is survived by six sisters and two brothers: Thomas Beierle, Rising City; Mike Beierle, Columbus, Mrs. William Weber, Rising City; Mrs, Anna Bock, David City; Mrs. Herman Taddiken, Shelby, Mrs. Lena Shay and Mrs. J.F. Kilgore of Bradshaw and Mrs. Emery Clouse, Shelby.
He was kind and generous to his family and always willing to help others. For many years Mr. Beierle was afflicted with sickness and weakness that incapcitated him from active work. He was confined to his home for the last two and a half years but bedfast for only one week. He departed this life on January 6, 1937, at the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 28 days.
Funeral services were conducted at the Beierle home in Surprise at 2:30 pm January 9th. Rev, C. P. Tranberg officiated. Due to infavorable weather and also sickness a number of relatives and friends were unable to be present. Mr. Luther Sayor, Mrs. Lewis Harris and Mrs. P.C. Hillegass sang, "Rock of Ages," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Rock of Ages Cleft for Me."
Pall bearers were John and Ervin Taddiken, Marion Bock, Theodore Knott, Carter McGill and John Hans. Burial was in Circle Mound Cemetery, Rising City.
