Sandra Sue Rice, 63, of Rushville, IL passed away at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at her home.
She was born on Thursday, October 30, 1947 in Litchfield, IL a daughter of the late Carl & Edna Eileen Estes Burrell.
She married Ken Rice on March 7, 1965 in Modesto, IL. He survives along with (5) sons; Kenneth William Rice Jr., & wife Sheri of Granite City, IL, Carl R. Rice & wife Michele of Waverly, IL, Jon P. Rice of Granite City, IL, Don L. Rice of Granite City, IL, Michael J. Rice & wife Molly of Rushville, IL, (3) brothers; Charles Robert "Bob" Burrell & wife Janet of Metamora, IL, Richard Ray Burrell & wife Vicky of Clinton, IL, Thomas Eugene Burrell & wife Karen of Auburn, IL, (2) sisters; Mary Frances Berry & husband Bob of Manito, IL, Linda Lou Day & husband Mike of Jacksonville, IL, (24) grandchildren & several great grandchildren.
Sandy was a member of the Rushville First Southern Baptist Church where she was active with the Church nursery. She also frequently sang for Church functions. She operated a Day Care in her home for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to her family.
