Obituary--Faulk.
After months of illness, John Henry Faulk, an old and well known citizen, died last Saturday morning. He was born, the second of a family of sixteen children, at Waynesburg, Stark county, Ohio, May 2nd, 1830, and lived 84 years, 7 months and 10 days.
He married Mary S. Kitson at South Whitney, Indiana, on October 16, 1851. To this union were born five children, one daughter, Elizabeth E., died December 2nd, 1888. The four sons, James S., Jacob A., William A. and Stephen A., with their mother and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive.
During the Civil War, Mr. Faulk served in the 100th Indiana Infantry. He was an active member of the local G.A.R. Post, whose numbers acted as pall bearers at the funeral.
At the age of 21 he united with the Methodist Episcopal church. He transferred his membership to the local church here on June 5th, 1870. Ever since he has been a faithful and diligent communicant.
The funeral services were held from the late residence at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and were attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives. A choir consisting of Mesdames Guy Fowble and A.L. Wood and Messrs. H.T. Schindler and Harry McQuire rendered appropriate music and the sermon was preached by his pastor, the Rev. A.L. Wood. Interment was at Rose Hill cemetery.
We wish to sincerely thank all the kind friends who so kindly assisted us in the recent illness and death of our husband and father.
Mrs. J.H. Faulk and children.
