GRAFTON -- Edward M. Maupin, 70, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.

A retired Laclecle Steel employee, the World War II marine veteran was born
in Godfrey, a son of the late Edward L and Elsah (Bland) Maupin.

He married the former Armell "Dickie" Fox on Mar 28, 1934, in Alton, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, John E. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters.
Shirley Oulson of Grafton and Hecky Rocsch of Bloomlon, Ill . ; nine
grandchildren; five brothers, Raymond of Cottage Hills, Leland of Jerseyville, Carl of Carrollton, William of Hartford and Arthur of Alton, and two sisters, Mildred Orr and EIsa Maupin both of Alton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home
Grafton, where a rosary will be recited at 7 pm

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a m Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church with the Rev Joseph Deneen as celebrant, and burial will be in Scenic Hill Cemetery.

The Diabetes Foundation and the church have been named as memorials.
