Mr. Capps was born April 25, 1935, in Mullins, a son of the late Richard Tillman Capps and the late Lila Amanda Drew Capps. Mr. Capps was a graduate of Mullins High School. He was a member of Coranaca Baptist Church in Greenwood.
Surviving Mr. Capps in addition to his wife of the home are, a daughter, Victoria C. Webber of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Charles Carlisle Webber and Amanda Kathryn Webber; a brother, Carl Ellis Capps of Florence; and a sister, Mary Lucille C. Watson of Silver Spring, Md.
Mr. Capps was predeceased by a sister, Ila Capps Collins and a brother, Richard Clyde Capps Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins, with the Rev. Chadwick Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends, Thursday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at Cox-Collins Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Small, 175 Harrington Rd., Mullins
