Mildred B. "Midge" Pearson Hocking, 83, of Springfield died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Heritage Manor Continue Care. She was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Selma, Iowa, the daughter of Victor and Zenith Heckethorn Pearson. She married Merle Hocking in 1945; he died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Larry Hocking.
Mrs. Hocking was an assembly worker at John Hobbs Factory, retiring in 1982. She was a member of South Side Christian Church.
Survivors: a daughter, Pauline Ruth Cronister of Springfield; two grandsons; a step-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Norma (husband, Paul) Estes and Gerri Wood, both of Springfield; two brothers, Ben (wife, Marjorie) and Don Pearson, both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, Robert Green and Jeff Chitwood officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
