She leaves her husband of 41 years, Robert S. Mable of Winchendon; a son, Robert C. Mable of Winchendon; a daughter, Betty-Ann Benson of Winchendon; a foster son, Robert J. LeBlanc of Baldwinville; a brother, G. William Gormley of Westminster; a sister, Betty E. Ashmore of Winchendon; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was born in Woburn, daughter of Charles E. and Ruth M. (Gordon) Gormley, and lived in Winchendon most of her life. She graduated from Murdock High School in 1956.
Mrs. Mable was a licensed practical nurse at Templeton Development Center, retiring in 1996 due to illness.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Auxiliary, the Lt. Frederick Wilder White Post 2158, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Retired Enlisted Association.
She enjoyed swimming, reading and crossword puzzles.
The memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 8, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce St. Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, Massachusetts Affiliate, 2 Mount Royal Ave., Suite 200, Marlboro, MA 01752. Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., is directing arrangements.
