Lauren Lee Adamson was born July 4, 1903 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to parents William and Nellie (Kellogg) Adamson and entered into death on May 21, 1988 at Centerville Good Samaritan Center at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 17 days. Lauren married Blanche Bertrand on February 1, 1926 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple farmed in Clay County for 41 years. After their retirement in 1969 they moved into Centerville. He was active in his community and served on many boards and organizations. Lauren was a 60 year member of the Farm Bureau, he served as a board member of the Mutual Insurance Company of Clay County for 20 years, he was a Director of the Vermillion Flood Control Association, the School Board and Township Board. Lauren was an original board member of the South Dakota Artificial Breeder Association. He served as a Clay County Weed Board member and was a candidiate for State Representative in 1964. He was a member of the Eagles Club, 2421 in Vermillion. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Among those who survive and who gratefully shared his life are his wife Blanche of Centerville; Three sons, Darold of Yankton, Delmar of Volin and James of Centerville; Three brothers, David of Dallas, Texas, Ward of Paducah, Kentucky, and Harold of Luverne, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
